ZHIYUN FIVERAY M40 40W Bi-Color Portable LED Video Light Panel
Our Verdict
I recently put the ZHIYUN FIVERAY M40 through its paces during a week of location photography to see if its compact footprint could actually deliver studio-quality output. This 40W panel aims to solve the age-old problem of carrying bulky gear without sacrificing the brightness or color accuracy needed for professional results.
Performance & Build Quality
The build quality feels remarkably robust despite its lightweight 320g frame, and the inclusion of the DynaVort Cooling System prevents the unit from overheating during extended sessions. The dual-wheel control layout is tactile and precise, allowing for seamless adjustments that feel intuitive under pressure.
Day-to-Day Experience
Using the M40 in the field is a breeze, as it slides easily into a jacket pocket and sets up in seconds. The PD fast-charging support was a total game changer for me, as it significantly reduced downtime between long shooting intervals.
This light is perfect for run-and-gun videographers and travel photographers who prioritize weight and efficiency without wanting to compromise on light intensity.
Final Thoughts
The FIVERAY M40 is a stellar addition to any kit, earning its impressive 4.91 rating by delivering consistent, high-quality light in a genuinely portable package. If you are looking for a reliable lighting solution at the $199.00 price point, this is easily one of the best tools available in 2026.
